Came to New England on the vessel James, Jul 1635 when 23 years of age. He settled in Lynn, Massachusetts, where he was one of the first shoemakers. Gave some time to blacksmithing and farming. He was made a freeman in 1639 and from that date took an active part in town affairs. "He also lived in the town of Rawley and died January 13, 1684" (It isn't clear that he died in Rawley but that's what I took from it.) He had five children, Edmund was one.
