Samuel Bass, son of Samuel and Anne (Sevelle) Bass, was born in England. He was christened on 11 may 1626 at Saffron Walden, Essex, England 
He married Mary Howard.
Samuel died before May 1653 as as the inventory of his estate was taken May 1653. Samuel died Intestate, and his estate was managed by the two grandfathers of his son Samuel, Robert Howard and Deacon Samuel Bass. Mary resigned her widows third and the estate was equally divided between mother and son.
Samuel Bass and his wife came from England to America about 1630. He was admitted a Freeman 5-14-1634. They settled in Roxburg, then moved to Braintree about 1640. He was the first deacon of the church and remained in that position about 50 years. He was one of the leading citizens of Braintree for many years. When he died he left 162 direct descendants.
Samuel married Mary Howard. (Mary Howard was born about 1629 and died on 23 Oct 1691.)
